I had a fantastic time at Oakerthorpe Holiday Village. The accommodation was comfortable and well-equipped, making it a perfect stay for my family with children. The location was ideal, with many great places to visit nearby. The children especially enjoyed the play area and waking up to see the sheep, Guinea fowl, and peacocks. The hot tub was a wonderful treat for all of us. The kitchen inventory was impressive, including a garlic crusher, which was appreciated by one of my children who is interested in the holiday let business. I highly recommend this place for a comfortable and enjoyable family getaway.

We had a fantastic stay at Oakerthorpe! the house was beautifully appointed and spacious, easily accommodating our large group of 6 adults and 4 children. the kids had a blast in the playground area and were especially fond of the playhouse. the garden and facilities for children were top-notch. We also enjoyed the hot tub, which kept everyone entertained even during the rainy weather. the site felt very safe and secure, with a park, play area, and fields for the kids to explore. the owners, Vic, Rachel, and Oliver, were friendly and welcoming throughout our entire stay. We can't wait to come back!
No issues. 👍.

The accommodation was beautifully appointed and spacious, easily accommodating our large group. The hot tub was a hit, keeping everyone entertained even in bad weather. The farm tour was a must-do activity, loved by both children and adults. The park, play area, and fields were fantastic for the kids, providing a safe and secure environment. The staff were friendly and welcoming from start to finish. a great experience that we would definitely repeat.
A larger bed would have been preferred, as we are used to bigger beds from living in the US. The mattress and shower could have been better. the nearby train track is worth mentioning, as the noise could be heard at times.

The house was absolutely stunning, with a jaw-dropping garden that left us in awe. The kids facilities were beyond fabulous, especially the playground and playhouse - my daughter had the time of her life! The overall holiday was mind-blowing, with great facilities, a clean and well-equipped property. The grounds were excellent, with a flood-lit footie pitch, secluded BBQ areas, and a fantastic play area for kids. The walled-garden farm was a delight, filled with adorable meerkats, peacocks, pigs. Inside the accommodation, the attention to detail was superb and there were plenty of amenities provided. The tasteful decoration and charming private garden added to the overall experience. The BBQ area with all the necessary kit was a super treat, and not having to clean it up was a bonus. The highlight of the trip was Vic's farm tour, where the kids got to collect lots of eggs, meet all the animals, and even feed them. It was an absolutely incredible experience that our kids loved. The location was a great base for exploring the Peak District and nearby attractions, and it was conveniently close to the main route north from London. The layout and facilities of the accommodation were perfect, especially for families with kids. This farm setting truly exceeded our expectations and provided a fantastic vacation for all.

And the private garden with seating was a nice touch, perfect for enjoying the outdoors.
There were a few things that let me down during my stay. One major issue was the mattress, it just wasn't comfortable at all.

The location was beautiful, surrounded by attractive countryside and with plenty of nearby attractions. The on-site activities such as the park, football, hot tub, and farm were a hit with both kids and adults. Even during a rainy few days, we had plenty of things to keep us entertained. The grounds were excellent, with a flood-lit footie pitch, secluded BBQ areas, and a great play area for the kids. The accommodations were well equipped and tastefully decorated. One of the highlights was the tour of the farm garden, where the kids got to collect eggs and meet all the animals.
The size of the damage deposit, which was quite steep and took over a week to be returned. there were a few minor issues such as a less-than-ideal mattress and shower, as well as some blemishes in the plasterwork.
